About Jordan Destafino
Hey there! I’m the guy who’s trying to make talking dogs through neural tech. Patent pending, I’ve started Stone Technologies as my holdings company to develop the various ideas I dream up on the road to this goal. My path weaves neurobiology, microcontrollers, machine learning and robotics into a single mission: to make dogs talk; and along the way build convienent solutions that help real people.
I established Stone Technologies as a holdings company to develop technologies on the long road to canine communication. Over the years I’ve built prototypes ranging from a helmet‑based brain scanner to simple devices that read paw pressure. In January 2025 I decided to shelve the brain scanner project — it taught me a ton about sensing and signal processing, but my attention has shifted toward robotics and automation.
Currently I’m deepening my mechatronic skills and setting up a full‑scale workshop to take on more complex builds. With a plan in mind, I have my eye on synthetic biology and materials engineering as the next frontiers — think biocompatible interfaces and designer bacteria for waste management. Eventually I intend to be a broadly competent neural engineer, combining these disciplines into a toolset I can build the future with.
Through Stone Technologies I also share light‑hearted experiments like teaching my dogs to play Uno through reinforcement learning techniques and inventing a bubble-wrap like cast that forms instantly via chemical reaction without undue heat. These projects may seem frivolous, but they reinforce my mantra that life’s supposed to be fun — innovation happens when we stay playful.
I’m forever a student and always open in how I consider: If you’d like to collaborate, commission a robotic system or just chat about big ideas, don’t hesitate to reach out.
